Cars and trucks are now incredibly complex with electronics and software featuring in most applications on the vehicle, ranging from powertrain and chassis, through body modules to complex infotainment and interior systems – and Pi is at the heart of them all. Transportation industry electronics is the fastest growing sector of the industry, and is undergoing huge changes as legislation makes emission control more complex, consumer electronics drives infotainment change, and concern over fuel reserves drives the development of hybrid vehicles.

As a result of increasing demand for our services, we are looking for experienced system engineers to work on exciting projects.
 
Objective - Design, develop and validate embedded control systems for transportation markets.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Executing and supporting control system designs. These designs will be suitable for proof-of-concept, prototyping and volume production applications.  Applications may include powertrain, drivetrain, advanced chassis, diesel after-treatment, emissions controls and hybrid vehicle.  
  • Day-to-day co-ordination with other design team members, including Electronic Hardware, Mechanical Design and Software Development.
  • Performing design & system testing activities including requirements capture and analysis, specification writing, system modeling and analysis, calibration, hazard analysis, DFMEA, software development and debugging, system validation and troubleshooting, engineering report writing, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on testing on engine dyno, in experimentation lab and on vehicle
  • Ensuring that design and implementation meets internal, customer and industry requirements for performance, quality and safety
 
Technical Skills and Experience
  • BS in Engineering and 5 years experience in related technical field
  • MS in Engineering and minimum 2 years of experience in electronic product development, software development, powertrain calibration are preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Understanding of electronic controllers, basic wiring and ECU troubleshooting
  • Must have knowledge of engine operation, main components and functions
  • Experience with control systems, on board diagnostics, software development tools and methods including Simulink, ATI, ETAS, LabVIEW
  • Familiarity with autocode generation and C programming
  • Familiarity with variety of sensors, electric actuators (motors, solenoids, pumps)

  • Willingness to travel locally and domestically.  Open to short-term offsite assignments, if needed.

  • Confidence and ability to lead assignments and technical discussions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
