Discrete I/O card (DIO) The discrete I/O card provides 16 inputs and 16 outputs of discrete of digital output for low speed applications. Further reading
Analog input card (AIN) The analog input card provides 32 channels, configured as eight daughter boards of four channels each.

The mother board provides the ASC inputs (+/- 5V, unprotected), with the daughter boards doing the necessary signal conditioning.

Programmable waveform generator card (PWG) The programmable waveform generator card is a specialist I/O card that simulates sensors such as, crank, cam and wheel sensors, by generating the appropriate signals to the ECU under test.
Analog output card (AOT) The analog output card is a mother board that provides 16 channels of voltage output, fed to four daughter boards each of which provides the signal conditioning for four channels.
Event capture card (EVT) The event capture card records the time of events, such as an injector switching on, to a high resolution.
PWM input card (PWMI) The PWM input board offers the same interface options as the discrete inputs. It measures the high and low periods directly using a 24 bit counter, allowing determination of the duty cycle and frequency.
PWM Output Card (PWMO) The PWM output board offers eight outputs with frequency configurable from 0.12 Hz to 100 kHz and duty programmable from 0 to 100%.

Fault Insertion Card

The Fault Insertion Card is a special PiAutoSim™ I/O Card.

It uses the high-current slots in chassis units designed to accommodate it (such as the SSC top slot).
The Fault Insertion Card offers the ability to interrupt the signal on 16 separate channels under software control. Each channel may also be connected separately to one of four fault rails.

Connecting two channels to the same fault rail would provide a loom short, for instance.

Additionally, these fault rails may be conditioned externally to the chassis or connected to the SSWCOM input or ground internally under software control.

CRI Box

The CRI Box is designed to simulate the behaviour of the injector.

The ECU's injectors driver is connected to the CRI box and generates high currents as desired.

The CRI box lets the current flow and provides a voltage output proportional to the current circulated.

This signal can be fed to the PiAutoSim™ (for example, to the AIN or an EVT input).

Break Out Box
During testing, it is often necessary to break into signals running between the simulator and the device under test.

The PiAutoSim™ Break Out Box (BOB), offers an extremely convenient way to do this. The unit can be inserted easily between any ELCO connector, providing immediate access to all the signals.

Alternatively, it can be designed into the harness allowing up to 96 signals to be accessed.

This cost effective PiAutoSim™ accessory allows signals to be isolated and provides access to either side of the switch, facilitating fault insertion and signal monitoring. For maximum flexibility, it can be used on the desktop or mounted in a 19" rack.

The key features of the PiAutoSim™ BOB are:

  • Up to 96 signals can be accessed;
  • Rated at 2A per signal;
  • Maps directly onto the PiAutoSim™ ELCO connectors;
  • Supplied complete with a 96 way ELCO patch cable;
  • Built to the same high standards as all other PiAutoSim™ accessories;
  • Can be mounted in a 19" rack using the optional rack ears;
  • Desktop size: 262mm (10.3") high x 435mm (17.2") wide x 45mm (1.8") deep;
  • Rack mount size: 6U x 84HP; and
  • Fully compliant with FCC and CE requirements.
