Systems Engineers (Cambridge Based)
We seek to expand our team of Systems Engineers with an enthusiastic engineer looking to progress their career within the challenging automotive electronics field. Pi Shurlok delivers advanced electronic automotive systems including powertrain, chassis and infotainment systems to global automotive customers.
For this opportunity, we are seeking a self starter and a creative problem solver with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, who shares our interest in vehicles or related technology. This is a Milton (Cambridge) based position but periodic travel to customer sites, both UK and overseas, may be required.
Objective - Design, develop and validate embedded control systems for transportation markets
Main Responsibilities
- Working independently, or as part of a small team, delivering world class engineering solutions to delight Pi Shurlok’s customers.
- Performing design activities including: requirements capture and analysis, specification writing, system modelling and analysis, strategy calibration, HAZOP / FMEA, robustness and reliability analysis, validation testing, test and engineering report writing, and documentation.
- Working alongside the customer’s engineering team where required.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Degree or equivalent in Automotive, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related subject
- Up to 2 years experience of the design, development or test of electronic systems or experience in automotive product development or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills (familiar with 8D or equivalent process)
- A good understanding of electronic hardware, software and automotive mechanical systems
- Familiarity with industry standard tools such as Inca, Canalyzer, MATLAB Simulink and/or dSPACE Targetlink
- Experience of working with automotive quality systems (TS16949, QS9000, and NPI processes or ISO9001).
Personal Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously
- Current and valid driving license would be advantageous
