Pi Shurlok engineers have been at the forefront of engine control development for over 15 years.
Our experience encompasses:

  • strategy development
  • control theory
  • software and hardware engineering
  • electronics design
  • calibration
  • prognostics and diagnostics

This experience has been applied to prototype vehicles as well as a series of production programmes for a wide range of customers including Vehicle Manufacturers and their Tier 1 suppliers.

Our engineers are currently working on the very latest set of emissions standards, which will be launched into Europe and the USA, for production vehicles.

In addition to simply meeting the standards, we also provide On Board Diagnostics (OBD) support and expertise. This technology aims to ensure that your vehicle continues to run cleanly throughout its life.

Pi Shurlok has more than 10 years experience working on Alternative Fuel systems, including Fuel Cell Vehicles, Hybrids and Natural Gas applications.

The OpenECU concept was developed originally as a rapid prototyping tool to meet the need to prove our engine control ideas and algorithms. The OpenECU product family is now our most common choice for the internal development of control algorithms, as this ensures an easy transfer into mass production vehicles.

Pi Shurlok continues to provide the expertise on engine controller strategies for leading sports car manufacturers. This includes all the very latest technology to provide class-leading performance from V8 and V12 engines, while still meeting emissions and fuel economy targets.

At the other end of the spectrum, Pi Shurlok has developed a low-cost engine controller for emerging markets. These are tailored towards smaller 4-cylinder gasoline engines, nevertheless there is still a significant challenge to engineer the right balance between performance, emissions and economy, while at the same time ensuring the controller delivers class-leading driveability.

Single, two cylinder and diesel motorbike engine controls also play a big part in our extensive focus.
